Hawai'i Powered - Clean Energy for Hawai'i, by Hawai'i

Integrated Grid Plan

Hawaiian Electric is pleased to present the Integrated Grid Plan: A pathway to a clean energy future.

The Integrated Grid Plan (IGP) represents the next five years of partnership with stakeholders and community members across the islands. Together, we are creating a resilient, clean energy grid powered by resources from Hawaiʻi, for Hawaiʻi. By 2045, our energy system will emit zero net carbon emissions and use 100% renewable resources. Our work to modernize and decarbonize our island grids has never been more urgent as the effects of climate change escalate and existing electrical facilities and infrastructure age.

The Draft IGP was filed with the Public Utilities Commission (PUC) on March 31, 2023. Communities and stakeholders were invited to provide public comments on the draft from March 31 through April 21. During that time, we received just over 300 comments from community members, stakeholders, PUC staff, and our technical advisory panel. The IGP has been updated in response to all received comments. All comments, along with how they were addressed in the final version of the IGP, are available to view in Appendix H.
